Encourage U
Our name encapsulates our desire to uplift and empower students through encouragement. Our decision to make the "U" a double entendre simply emphasizes our commitment to providing individualized, postsecondary support to every student, despite their academic history. We believe that authentic and consistent encouragement creates an environment for students to believe in themselves and tap into their full potential.
2020
Encourage U was established in 2020 to address the opportunity gap in education and uplift a population of students who are often overlooked.
Leaf Vine
Leaves on a vine often symbolize growth and opportunity. One of the primary goals of Encourage U is to provide students with resources that will help them make informed decisions about their postsecondary pursuits. Encourage U also aims to ensure that every student completes the program with a deeper understanding of self and a greater knowledge of the postsecondary opportunities available.
Academic Crest
Rectangles often signify equality and stability. When selecting a shape for our academic crest, we elected to use the rectangular shape to further emphasize the role education plays in creating stability and equitable outcomes. Although there are disparities within the field of education, we believe that programs like Encourage U have the potential to make a meaningful impact on not only the field of education, but also in the lives of a number of disadvantaged students.

This is our mission statement. Encourage U aims to serve and support minority and disadvantaged students in a manner that best suits each individual. The path to postsecondary education looks different for everyone, and Encourage U is committed to assisting students with curating the path that is best for them.
